Lastly, here’s a Wednesday afternoon thought from Eben 🚩: Earlier this year, Jacob wrote an awesome essay about ‘The Diff.’ For those unfamiliar, it’s a silly (or genius? or both?) graphic that the Cleveland Cavaliers use on their broadcasts that explicitly tells viewers how big a team’s lead is. It helps you avoid basic arithmetic.
Today I noticed that NBC’s Tour de France coverage is displaying its own version of the ‘The Diff.’ For those curious, I believe that’s la diffé in French.
